Color affects our thoughts and actions. Red represents danger, green gives us a feeling of safety and blue we associate with cool and cold. An abstract work derives its power of expression to a large extent to the colour and material choice of the artist. Panel or canvas, smooth or rough, pasty or face: in the exhibition Living colors let us see the effects of different surfaces and colour schemes on how to make a painting. In the museum you can not only see but also feel the effects. Some of the paintings is a steel made, so you feel with your hands can feel what your eyes have already observed. With works by Frank Stella, among others, Bernard Frize and Louise Nevelson.
