Quel Amour!? brings together several artists from different generations, countries, and cultures for whom Love has been a source of inspiration. Doubtlessly, Love is one of the most significant feelings of human life. Hence, it has always been present in the history of art.
Mankind, in general, and artists, in particular, because of their sensitivity, have the need to express this feeling, so personal and diverse, which shows itself in many ways. Such a plurality is what we intend to explore in Quel Amour!?.
Hopefully, it shall become the starting point for a deeper reflection about Love, about its diversity and universality, contributing to a better understanding of ourselves and the world we live in.
Works by artists such as Chantal Akerman, Helena Almeida, Louise Bourgeois, Sophie Calle, Lourdes Castro, Gérard Garouste, Nan Goldin, William Kentridge, Annette Messager, Raymond Pettibon, Germaine Richier, Kiki Smith, Ernesto de Sousa, Wolfgang Tillmans ou / or Francesca Woodman
