Louisiana Museum of Modern Art: Operations Manager
Louisiana is looking for Operations Manager
You will become head of the ‘Operation and Security’ area, which handles everything from construction and maintenance to museum safety. The area consists of three strong departments: Guard and Security, Craftsmen and Exhibition Production.
Together, the departments’ primary purpose is to ensure that the museum operates optimally in daily operations. It includes all practical work and maintenance of the museum’s properties with associated technical facilities as well as assisting the museum’s other departments with practical projects and guidance. The area participates in most projects across the museum as a consultant and executive. Everything we do is executed with a high level of service and with a high solution orientation.
You will spend most of your time:
Management of the operations, security, exhibition producers and craftsmen
Consultancy in connection with – and implementation of – exhibition design
Operation and maintenance of property and park
Projects at the museum. There are many and many
Collaboration with advisors
We have high expectations for you
You can be the right one if you have good and proven experience with construction or / and operation and maintenance – and with the leadership of talented managers and employees within the same. We expect you have a good network from previous hires and that you can document your results. You are a person who sees opportunities and wants to try new ways to reach the goal. You can easily create good and lasting relationships across the organization as well as suppliers and external craftsmen. You are actionable and confident, and you take on the tasks, complete and follow up. There is speed and therefore you need to be able to keep up with the overview.
You are academically ambitious in your field and have a great curiosity and desire to experiment and maintain existing solutions if they work. You are a strong executive and thrive on a daily life with high tempo and with many different everyday tasks and in larger projects across the department and professionalism. You are therefore a prominent team player, who thrives on a function that has a finger for the most part, and where with your heavy experience you contribute to the museum’s many exhibitions and activities.
You have a relevant education, for example as an academic or civil engineer and in-depth experience as a contractor. It is an advantage if you have additional experience as a building consultant and if you have previously had overall responsibility for securing high-security buildings. You are driven by the task and thrive in an organization where the projects are as different as the employees’ professionalism.
It will suit us well if you can join on March 1, 2020.
An exciting and vibrant house with a large daily smoking room of guests. 8 – 12 special exhibitions annually, classical concerts, talks, literature festival, Channel, Lectures – and much more.
