The Roberts Institute of Art (RIA) is looking for a highly organised, competent and experienced Collection Registrar to manage the day to day and long-term needs of one of the UK’s largest private contemporary art collections. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager and Art Technician, the Collection Registrar will play a vital role in the archive, care, maintenance and presentation of the David and Indrė Roberts Collection. Today the collection is comprised of close to 2,500 contemporary artworks by over 850 artists from a diverse range including Louise Bourgeois, Anthony Caro, Theaster Gates, Mona Hatoum, Sarah Lucas, Grayson Perry, Paula Rego, Cindy Sherman and Ai Wei Wei. The role is based in the dedicated collection warehouse near Salisbury and involves working with a small team to manage all administrative and archival requirements and handle the logistics for all collection exhibitions, loans, projects and installations both across the UK and internationally.

You are joining RIA at a time of strategic development as we build our UK partnership projects and new residency programme in Scotland. The role involves some travel around the UK depending on collection and programme needs. The right candidate will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to increasing the accessibility and visibility of the collection, alongside safeguarding its future and legacy.
