Kiki Kogelnik Foundation : Foundation Manager

The Kiki Kogelnik Foundation is seeking a dedicated, highly motivated and experienced full-time foundation manager in New York. The ideal candidate will be an organized self-starter, have excellent interpersonal and written communications skills, and excellent attention to detail.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• oversee and lead daily operations of the Foundation

• work closely and transparently with the Executive Director

• work to expand the visibility of the artist and her works

• start up a new office in New York

• build, manage and work well with a team as well as independently

• develop short- and long-term strategic goals to advance the Foundation’s mission

• have excellent knowledge of contemporary and modern art as well as the art world

• cultivate relationships with institutions and key art world professionals

• identify strategies and opportunities for exhibitions and for placing works • provide studio visits to curators in an articulate and insightful manner

• work together with curators to build work selections and concepts of exhibitions

• work with curators and writers and aid in editing and proofing catalogs and essays

• maintain a positive attitude and solve problems creatively and preemptively

• have a personable manner and a calm, considered and methodical workflow

• be able to achieve goals simply, frugally and in a down-to-earth fashion

• prioritize and see solutions through to meet all deadlines • meet staffing and other needs in a manner compatible with budget

• track total expenses and costs and provide a regular financial overview

• work together with registrar to assure the safety and preservation of the works, handle multiple storage facilities, insurance, coordinate local and international transports, specify and oversee crating, oversee packing and handling of works and keep a detailed and current inventory

• oversee conservation projects, archive research, work documentation and condition reporting

• consult and work with attorneys to uphold legal requirements and defend copyrights

• build and maintain mailing lists, create mailings, post on social media and update website

• have strong computer skills and familiarity with art databases such as Art Systems

• travel for exhibition openings and other events

• have an authentic interest and appreciation of Kiki Kogelnik’s work and the mission of the Foundation


Advanced degrees in art or art history, and German language skills, are a plus.
