Louisiana Museum of Modern Art: Art Mediator for Louisiana Learning
Are you passionate about the arts and helping Louisiana’s guests – young and old – meet the arts with curiosity and dedication? Do you have a strong knowledge of art, and do you like to constantly dive into new material?
Louisiana Learning is seeking a new art facilitator for the team, who is responsible for the museum’s teaching and adult education.
Your primary duties
Teaching, guided tours, lectures and workshops
Written communication including teaching materials
Development of new creative workshops
In the department, we each have our own responsibilities, such as digital communication and offers to special groups such as children and young people from special schools or the Red Cross schools. Your focus will be the development of creative workshops.
We imagine that you
either have a bachelor degree in art history or modern culture combined with solid museum experience, maybe even from abroad. You know what it takes to create engaging and challenging teaching processes and dissemination. You have practical experience with workshop work, and if you also have knowledge of the school world, it will be a big plus.
As an art intermediary, you are an extrovert and have a natural authority. You quickly understand what type of group you are facing and how you can best create a framework for a shared wonder and conversation about the arts. You have the word in your power and communicate flawlessly in Danish and in English in both writing and speech. Having another language would be a plus.
As a colleague, you have a positive, unpretentious and collaborative attitude. You derive energy from working at high speed with many parallel tracks and at the same time you can see the big picture.
What we offer
You will be part of an ambitious team of art intermediaries, with professionalism at the forefront, curiosity and atmosphere. The common starting point for our dissemination services is Louisiana’s collection and 6-8 annual special exhibitions as well as other cultural activities. You get a great feel for the museum’s other departments and versatile tasks, which you have a great influence on yourself. We are a workplace characterized by diversity in tasks, colleagues and guests.
The position is 30 hours weekly Mon-Fri according to your schedule with a regular weekly evening shift.
The museum is open to guests Tuesday-Friday at. 11-22, Saturday and Sunday 11-18 and you will find that there will be extra shifts at times. Therefore, flexibility is crucial.
We will hold interviews on September 13 and 16, 2019 – and we hope to have you join us by October 1, 2019
