Fondation Constant : Documenting Library (part-time)
Per August 1st Fondation Constant is looking for someone to help us document the library in the home of the Dutch painter Constant Nieuwenhuys (1920-2005).
About Fondation Constant
Fondation Constant manages the legacy, collection and copyrights of artist Constant Nieuwenhuys (1920-2005) and does research for the digital catalogue raisonné. In January 2017 an academic committee was installed to oversee the production of the catalogue raisonné. For more information on Constant, his work, the work of the foundation and of the academic committee, see http://stichtingconstant.nl/work
We are moving the library from the house, where Constant lived and worked from 1979 till his passing in 2005, to our office in Utrecht. We are looking for someone, who can document the library. This documentation report can then be used for the catalogue raisonné, a biography and future research. We also need help moving the library and organizing it in Utrecht.
During this project you will be working closely with project manager, Kim van der Horst and Trudy Nieuwenhuy, head research and member of the board of Fondation Constant and Constant’s wife.
Period: minimal 6 months, potentially longer, 2 days/week.
Starting: August 1st, 2019
Location: Amsterdam, city centre
We are looking:
- Student and freelancer,
- from Amsterdam, or surroundings,
- following or has finished a BA Cultural Heritance or MA Museology, or who has a keen interest in these subjects,
- who works precise and driven,
- who has an interest in Constant, his work and ideas,
