Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain : Project Manager in charge of the Management of Works (Collections and Temporary Exhibitions)
Created in 1984 and based in Paris since 1994, the Fondation Cartier is located in the building designed by the architect Jean Nouvel. In the image of its time, the Fondation Cartier crosses all fields of contemporary creation, from design to photography, from painting to video, from fashion to performing arts, while promoting its know-how and its bias, a mixture of rigour and eclecticism, which tends to make contemporary art open and accessible.
As part of a replacement for maternity leave, we are currently seeking to integrate the Direction of the Management of Works, integrated into the Administrative and Financial Direction: Project Manager in charge of the Management of Works (Collections and Temporary Exhibitions)
Your main mission
Reporting to the Director of the Management of Works, composed of 5 people, you are in charge of the following main missions:
1. Preparation and coordination of the project to move the reserves of the Cartier Foundation Collection:
Under the supervision of the Administrative and Financial Director, and in close collaboration with the Director of Works, and the various technical interlocutors, you are in charge of preparing the relocation of the reserves and the layout of the future storage spaces. You coordinate the project in its current prefiguration phase, and are in charge of defining the material, human and budgetary needs for the conservation, collection and relocation of the collection.
2. Supervision of the change of the database management tool of the Cartier Foundation Collection:
You coordinate the change of the Collection’s database management tool and supervise the registrar in charge of the operational administration of the database. You supervise the integration of the new application suite, and in particular ensure that it meets the inventory needs related to the future relocation of reserves.
3. Management of artworks of the Collection and Temporary Exhibitions of the Foundation:
You are occasionally called upon to take on certain tasks in the management of works: transport, insurance, coordination of restorations, coordination of the management of works, coordination of exhibition prints, coordination of assembly/disassembly, budgetary monitoring of operations, etc….
Description of the profile required
Holder of a diploma from higher education level Bac+3 to Bac+5.
Ideally, you have operational control over a collection database.
You have excellent writing skills and strong interpersonal and managerial skills.
You are fluent in English and French, both spoken and written.
You know and practice the Office and Adobe suites.
Dynamic, proactive, you are also rigorous and organized. You have an appetite for teamwork and can also work independently.
Description of the experience sought
You have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in art management.
You already have experience in moving reserves.
