Henry Moore Foundation : Information Assistants
Weekends, fixed term contract
Henry Moore Studios & Gardens
We invite you to apply to join our close-knit team at Henry Moore Studios & Gardens, Perry Green for the 2019 visitor season, which includes our new exhibition Henry Moore Drawings: The Art of Seeing.
Information Assistants are part of the invigilation team responsible for the protection of the collections on display in the gallery, studios, gardens and Hoglands house. Post-holders are encouraged to engage with visitors, responding to their questions relating to the life and work of Henry Moore and the annual exhibition. When working in Hoglands, invigilators will give guided tours. Invigilators are required to do their utmost to make the experience of visiting our location as enjoyable as possible. Previous experience in a cultural environment is desirable, but a warm personality coupled with an enjoyment of working with the public and willingness to help others is more important. Appropriate information and training will be given in all areas.
We are looking to recruit several weekend Information Assistants (Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays; a single shift is also available on a Friday).
Positions are offered during the period from 3 April to 27 October 2019 inclusive on the basis of a fixed term employment contract.
Working days and hours will be within the following schedule:
- In studios, gallery and sculpture grounds: 10.45 – 17.15
- In Hoglands house: 11.15 – 16.15
- £9.20 per hr (£8.21 + 99p/hr paid holiday – based on 28 days leave pro rata) including paid breaks;
- time and a half for bank holidays;
- plus employer’s pension contribution of 3% paid to eligible job-holders.
All successful candidates will be asked to attend two paid days’ training on Thursday 28 and Friday 29 March. The visitor seasons opens on Wednesday 3 April 2019.
Application deadline: 12 noon on Monday 4 March 2019.
Interviews: Tuesday 12 March 2019.
