Georgia O’Keeffe Museum: HR Recruiter Generalist
Position Summary
The Human Resource Recruiter/Generalist assists in the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department and is primarily responsible for all aspects of recruiting for the organization and plays a critical role in ensuring it’s hiring the best possible talent. With guidance from the HR Director, the HR Recruiter/Generalist may also carry out the responsibilities in other HR functional areas including; employee relations, training, organizational development, benefits, talent acquisition, and payroll as needed.
Sample Responsibilities
Conducts full cycle recruitment effort for all personnel and temporary employees.
Writes and places advertisements; accepts and responds to all applications and tracks candidates.
Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media, professional networking sites, etc…
Interviews and evaluates job candidates; coordinates interview scheduling with hiring managers; calls references; manages and tracks resumes.
Conducts new employee orientations to ensure employees receive a comprehensive overview of the Museum, an explanation and instruction of human resources and administrative procedures, and an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions.
Provides regular staffing and hiring updates and prepares reports as needed.
Processes all new employees and all change-of-status forms. Conducts pre-employment background checks and completes requests for employment verification.
Background and Qualifications
B.A. or equivalent and 5+ years’ experience in relevant field. Proven work experience as a Recruiter.
Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources; knowledge of employment laws and best practices. Must have well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills, planning and organizational skills, professional appearance and manner, computer skills, and the ability to negotiate effectively and to work as a team player.
