Garage Museum of Contemporary Art: Publishing Program Manager

Responsibilities:

Selection of translators, literary editors, proofreaders, photographers, illustrators and designers for books of the Museum’s publishing program
Formulation of tasks for employees working on books, budgeting projects, monitoring compliance with deadlines
Quality control of translation, editing, layout, making changes to the layout
Maintaining related documentation: preparation of the project budget and monitoring of compliance with it, execution of contracts with contractors, work with copyrights, interaction with the legal department and accounting, control of timely payments on projects
Writing texts for promoting books: press releases, annotations for the site, etc.
Organization of events related to the promotion of books: presentations, round tables, lectures, both in the Museum and at other sites

Requirements for a candidate:

Education is a higher humanitarian. Knowledge of art history is welcome
Work experience in the publishing department of an art museum or in a department of a publishing house that publishes literature on art in the position of a publishing editor – at least 2 years
English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate level and above (written and oral)
Ownership of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat

Probationary period – 3 months
