The Aishti Foundation was founded by Tony Salame in Beirut, Lebanon in (2015) and aspires to define an institution dedicated to contemporary culture, ranging from art to design, from architecture to performance. The Foundation has a prominent collection of postwar and contemporary art worldwide, consisting of some 2,000 pieces with in-depth representations of influential contemporary artists like Lucio Fontana, Alberto Burri, Sol LeWitt, John Baldessari, Julian Schnabel, Wade Guyton, Giuseppe Penone, Christopher Wool, David Salle, Gerhard Richter, Cindy Sherman, Robert Longo, Danh Vo, plus an ever-growing representation of younger artists. The building was designed by the architect Sir David Adjaye.
