Fondation Hartung-Bergman: Mediation Internship
The Hartung-Bergman Foundation is a private institution recognized as being of public utility. Its mission is to promote the influence of the two founding artists, Hans Hartung (1904-1989) and Anna-Eva Bergman (1909-1987). The promotion of their works is done primarily through the production of catalogues raisonnés and publications and the organization of exhibitions and seminars. The foundation is also a research laboratory in art history and welcomes researchers, art historians, critics, museum curators and exhibition curators. Finally, it provides an expertise and authentication service, which responds with rapid information to several hundred requests each year. The institution also opens its doors to the public through guided tours that address the different aspects of the life and work of the artists and allow visitors to discover their studios, which are partly dedicated to temporary exhibitions.
Under the aegis of the Hartung-Bergman Foundation’s general coordinator and communication officer, the trainee takes an active part in the institution’s policy of openness to the public, from managing the booking schedule to welcoming groups and running the bookshop. In addition to the guided tours, this public relations mission will include the reception of personalities and partners and the organisation of events.
As part of the Foundation team, the trainee will gain an understanding of the different facets of a cultural institution and acquire significant field experience.
