In keeping with the logic of exhibitions devoted to private collections, the Bemberg Foundation presents from June 26 to November 1, 2020, the quite exceptional exhibition of the Fondation des Treilles, presided over by Maryvonne de Saint Pulgent, a collection constituted by Anne Gruner-Schlumberger (1905 -1993) in her estate in Tourtour. The Founder of Treilles had a taste for collections, and mixed with eclecticism and talent the marble of the antiques with the metal of the high flexible rods of Takis, the rarest modern art and the most modest popular art, the lamp-posts of Giacometti at the tables of the refectories of the convents, the Burgundian wedding boxes with the cut out papers of the cubists. She also wanted some of the works in her collection to go from city to city to the general public after her death. This is the reason for this exhibition.
