Camargo Foundation: Communication & Mediation Assistant Internship

The Camargo Foundation, located in Cassis, was created by artist and philanthropist Jerome Hill in 1967. It is a place of residence dedicated to art and the human and social sciences. In a quality environment, it offers time and space for reflection, creation and exchange. The Foundation supports the work of artists, researchers and thinkers in the arts and humanities and social sciences. Each year, the Foundation welcomes approximately 80 residents of all nationalities.

During this period, various residency programs will take place, such as :
– The spring session of the main program: residency for 12 artists and researchers, from February 25 to May 12, 2020;
– Various residency programs for artists and researchers in partnership with various organizations such as the French Institute of Turkey, the FIDLab, the Goethe-Institut, Jerome Foundation, 3Arts, the Calanques National Park…
Internal and/or public events will be regularly organised at the Foundation in connection with the various programmes.
Position description

The person will assist the team (made up of 7 permanent staff, including 1 in the United States) in the following tasks:

Communication and mediation
– Update of communication tools and content proposal: website, Facebook, Instagram, newsletter, communication documents
– Revision and translation of texts in French and English
– Updating databases (newsletter and fundraising) and assistance with targeting operations
– Participation in the design, organization and mediation of public events (Rendez-vous at Les Jardins, open days, events with partners)
– Weekly guided tours of the Foundation
– Participation in the design of the 50th anniversary to be celebrated in 2021-2022
– Digital monitoring (referencing Camargo Foundation, monitoring of other places of residence)

Logistics and welcoming residents
– Reception, assistance and information for residents by providing them with information necessary in Camargo, Cassis and the region
– Participation in the organization of periodic meetings with residents and events held at the Foundation
– Occasional participation in logistics operations, preparation and proper functioning of apartments and the site for the reception of residents (inventories, management of the linen stock…)
– Assist the team in various tasks, as required

Duration: 6 months

Description of the profile required
– Master I or Master II level
– Past experience in communication and/or mediation
– Interest and commitments in the cultural or research sector
– Interest in digital tools (website, social networks, DTP tools)
– If possible experience abroad
– Excellent level of spelling in French
– Very good command of English required (written and spoken)
– Strong interpersonal skills, initiative and curiosity

Date of commencement of employment: February 2, 2020

– Minimum internship bonus + possibility of accommodation at the Foundation
– From February 24, 2020 (for 6 months)
– Mandatory internship agreement
