B & M Theocharakis Foundation: Art Competition
B & M Theoharakis Institute of Fine Arts & Music
The V. & M. Theocharakis Institute of Fine Arts and Music, in the framework of the operation entitled “GRE-Taste: The Taste of Greece”, implemented in the framework of the NSRF Operational Program “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation” 2014-2020, launches an art competition.
Contestants are invited to consider:
the special gastronomic tradition of Central and Eastern Macedonia and Thrace
the special character of Greek gastronomy
Greek traditions in table art (art de la table)
European and international modern gastronomy
Taking into account the above has an intrinsic rather than limiting dimension to artistic creation.
INSTITUTIONAL FRAMEWORK FOR COMPETITION
The prizes are cash prizes and honors. The cash prizes are given to the top three. The first prize is € 700, the second € 500 and the third € 300. The other artists selected will receive honorary awards.
The jury is made up of fine artists and art historians of recognized value and is five members. The Committee is represented by the Theoharakis Foundation’s Artistic Director.
The projects selected and awarded go to Theoharakis Foundation and are the property of the GRE-Taste project partners.
The works will be exhibited for at least 10 days at Theocharakis Foundation. The first prize will also be printed in a mug.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE COMPETITION
Contestants can be students or graduates of Fine Arts schools, or experienced artists.
Projects to be submitted must be wall-mounted or embossed, with dimensions not exceeding 150 cm. and not less than 30cm. with materials of the contestants’ choice.
Submitted works, because they will be digitally reproduced, should facilitate their reproduction and printing without altering their particular characteristics.
To apply, applicants must send an electronic picture (.jpeg) of their work to email@example.com by March 10, 2020. Eligible applicants will be asked to submit or submit in person at the B. & M. Theocharakis Foundation (9 Vas. Sofias & Merlin 1, Athens) the original work within 10 days of notification. The name of the bidder should be indicated on the packaging of the original project and behind the project itself. The project must be accompanied by an electronic application form with the project’s personal details and specific characteristics (title, dimensions, materials, year of completion) and a short CV.
Shipping costs and project insurance are the responsibility of the contestants.
The organizers reserve the right to modify the terms of the competition to improve the organization.
Participation in the competition requires the acceptance of the above terms and the decisions of the Jury.
