Works on paper occupy a special position in the Œuvre Hans Arps, because he deals with any other media so diverse. Again and again, he explores the limits and reach new uses. Arp not only draws and manufactures colorful prints, but he tears and sticks, painted, cuts and crumpled -, and thus even a third dimension gives the paper.
Everywhere you nature are borrowed from principles of organic abstraction – metamorphosis, constellation, and random – graphic in the collection. On the basis of his dealings with the paper, Arps are particularly tangible spontaneity and his unbridled experimentation.
Due to the current focus in the exhibition a catalogue of the works on paper in the collection of the ARP Museum station appears in the December 2018
